The Meeting House

I chose to change the colour of the hair on the the person facing away from us to a redish brownish colour to  forma more rustic feel.  I also changed the backround colour to orange and yellow to because I imagine the setting being in Africa.

Ag Day 2020

 Ag Day!

The Pets!

There were dogs, lambs!

Goats, even a possum!

This was shambles and the

Big muddles and puddles of

Pets day.

The big lambs the small lambs,

And the very oversize lambs!

The big dogs, the small dogs,

And I don’t think there were any

Oversize dogs…

Then it was the dress up comp,

Look at all the costumes!

Fairy wings, tuxedoes!

I dressed up as Hickory Dickory Dock.

The Lunch break, the brunch break,

The everyones favourite time break.

(even the lambs).

 Ahh...

There was the farmers challenge all

Lined up in a row,

I wonder what job I’ll get,

It was drawing a dog out of shaving foam!

Yep,

Well that was Ag day, a fun day,

But now I’m a tuckered out day!

Creating Digital Pop Art

Today we used a tool called lunapic to create a digitital collage.

There were lots of different effects but my favourite was floating.

Once we were on the site we pushed art which was on the top bar and it took us to a space where we could choose which effects we wanted.

when we had chosen an effect we saved it onto a google drawings then added it to our blog.

Here is my Digital collage:

This one I did on Artnet:

Jiggling Jelly

Today in tech we made Jelly Slice. We had to make three layers. The bottom one was crushed up biscuits, the middle one was condensed milk, geletine and lemon and last but not least jelly for the top. We left the jelly slice in the fridge to set and cool.
The challenges were trying to pour the jelly on the first two layers without getting baking paper in the jelly.  But anyway it was fun and thats all that matters!

Making Music

Today we were leaning to add mood to a slide by adding music or audio.
We used a app called soundtrap. we had to create some music that matches our picture.
You could create music using didgetal piano keys, drums, ect.
It is a great place to explore and create!
The challenging part was making the music or find some that fitted your picture exactly. I got there in the end though!

Here is the link to soundtrap if you want to have a go.

Crazy Cooking!!

Today in cooking tech we made choc chip and banana pancakes.
The skill focus was separating egg yolks and egg whites and flipping the pancake.
My pancakes wern't as fluffy because some of my egg yolk got in with my egg whites.
It was still really fun though!
I enjoyed beating the egg whites up because we used non-electric egg beater.
My favourite part was flipping the pancake with the pan.
To end our session we tested some eggs and found that they were rotten, so we headed out to the compost heap and threw them in!!
Split! Splat! Splot!

In My Street

Last week we read a poem called in my street. It talked about what different houses and buildings that are along the authors street and in the inviroment. This inspired us to make some artwork. Today I finished my art.
My houses are random. They are not the houses in the poem or my street.

Which is your favourite?

Home School - Pirate Ship

On Wednesday 25th of March 2020 my siblings and I found a old boat of our great grandad's. We made it into a pirate ship. First we made a flag. We got a old sheet and my little brother painted a yellow x on it. That went on the back of the boat. Then we made our clothes out of the same sheet that we used for the flag. I made a rickety old skirt and painted it's with splodges of blue green yellow and red. Then we decided to make a steering wheel. this was made out of a ice cream container lid and a piece of suplejack.I nailed the lid onto the suplejack and stuck that at the front of the boat. I made a sail out of two big sticks and that same sheet. in tied the sheet to the to the sticks and jammed the sticks to the sides of the boat. Next came the swords. I got two sticks and crossed them over each other. Then I taped them together. Now meharties! We shall go find some tresure!!

Wealso had a pirate song

Here it is:
Pirates, pirates, The Jolly Children,
try to beat us and we will always win!
We are fiece and will win......  because.....
We're
THE JOLLY CHILDREN!

We named our boat The Jolly Children!

My Graph.

Today we
went onto our blog, found out how many blog posts we had done and made them into a graph. When I had done that I embeded those numbers into the bars.
I learnt how to paste the numbers into the bars and also make a BAR graph.
The thing that I enjoyed colouring and costimising my graph.
Next time I want to make my bars 3D because everyone else in my classdid it and I think it looked like a good idea.
In summer 2019 I didn't do any blog posts because  I didn't even know what a blog was!
In autuam  I did one, in winter I did 19 and in spring I did 15. The total of 2019 was 38.
In 2020 I did 4.  3 in summer and one in autaum.

Profile

Hi my name is Isabel at Matawai School. I am a year 6 and I have 5 people in my family. In my family I have my mum, my dad, my sister and my brother.

I love to climb trees and explore the other paddocks. I live on a farm with my family.   In the summer I like to go to the river and jump off the rocks.. It is very fun when you do it with your friends.

This year at school I've been doing a lot of things that are very very fun. I think this year is going to go very well because I am achieving most of the things I am being given.  I'm going to work on everything this year and  persevere throughout the year.
